Vale gas starts payment in December – Apply now!

A bill was approved that allows the continuation of the benefit of Vale Gás, for low-income Brazilians. Its purpose is to help these families and now awaits the president's sanction. With the Covid-19 pandemic, many families began to need even more benefits from the federal government.

Auxílio Emergencial, Bolsa Família and other aid programs have become increasingly necessary in recent years.

In July, the Government of the State of São Paulo launched the Vale Gás Program, but the federal government's only starts in December.

The focus is to financially help families living in socially disadvantaged groups. These families are classified as low-income or extreme poverty and will receive a benefit of R$100,00 from the gas voucher program.

The gas voucher benefits will be granted to families every two months, and only three periods of social assistance will be granted.

The state government claims to have invested 30 million reais in the plan, which aims to cover several cities in the state of São Paulo.

Who can have the Gas Valley?

To qualify for the Vale Gás program, you must register with CadÚnico. Anyone who already has the updated single registration form will be able to enjoy the benefit if they meet the criteria.

All people with a monthly family income of R$ 550 will be entitled to this benefit. Families receiving the Continuous Cash Benefit (BPC) will also be entitled to the benefit.

In general, Vale Gás is an aid for those who cannot afford to buy gas cylinders. In general, families registered in the Cadastro Único but not receiving the current Bolsa Família or Auxílio Brasil are eligible.

• Per capita income is less than or equal to half the minimum wage;
• A family in which a member receives a Benefício de Prestação Continuada (BPC) (BPC);
• Possess the Mais Infância cato.

In addition to the main requirements mentioned above, the recently approved bill also mentions that priority will be given to the payment of assistance to female heads of household.

When will the Vale Gás program start?

The resources for the payment of gas coupons will be issued in early December. The Ministry of Citizenship stated in the statement that it will use the folder's own money to pay for social security. BRL 300 million will be used to pay for Vale Gás. As of January 2022, the federal government will determine the source of funding.

The law passed by President Bolsonaro stipulates that Vale Gás will receive royalties from oil and natural gas. The resources will also come from the General Budget of the Union.

How does Vale Gas work?

Vale Gás, also known as “Auxílio Gás”, has as main objective to provide subsidies for the purchase of gas cylinders. Currently, several Brazilian states benefit low-income families through assistance. This amount varies from state to state, but is usually between 50,00 reais and 100,00 reais.

It is an aid from the federal and state governments to families living in extreme poverty and who do not have a source of income for the purchase of cylinders. Currently, several states in Brazil offer these benefits. However, operational rules vary from state to state.

How to apply for the Gas Valley?

To register for Vale Gás, there is no need to make a specific registration for this benefit, but the representative of the party or family must register with CadÚnico and update their data.

Therefore, if you have not yet registered, you must go to the Social Assistance Reference Center (CRAS) in your city or designate a family representative over 16 years of age (preferably female) to register. The documents required for registration in CadÚnico are the following:

• Birth Certificate; or Marriage Certificate; or CPF; or Identity Card – RG; or Work Card; or Voter Title; or Administrative Registry of Indigenous Birth (RANI) – only if the person is indigenous.

What is the value of the Gas Valley?

The value of Vale Gás varies from state to state. According to the approved bill, which is awaiting approval from the president, the value of the aid will be equivalent to 50% of the value of gas cylinders sold in the area.

For example, currently, in São Paulo, beneficiaries receive three installments of R$ 100,00 every two months to be able to buy gas cylinders.

In Acre, the beneficiary is entitled to 150 reais for three months, while in Piauí, the registered person receives 200 reais per month. Santa Catarina paid a higher amount: 300 reais for the third phase.

However, the above values ​​may change according to the sanctions imposed by the new president.
